Good day, QSAC members.
Back in 2013, QSAC introduced an aluminum manifold option to be used as a replacement for the OEM Zenoah “Phenolic” manifold blocks. The manifolds are available in two configurations and colors. The first option is an 8.5mm version in red anodize, with the second being a 10.5mm version in blue anodize. The manifolds provide a way to regulate flow volume similar to the original QSAC Restrictor Plates, but also provide a more robust manifold that will not warp and distort, and allows racers to no longer use the plastic OEM “phenolic” manifold. The original intent following the release of the QSAC Manifolds was to phase out the QSAC Restrictor Plates.
Thirteen years later, that time has now come. As of January 1st, 2026, QSAC Restrictor Plates will no longer be legal and will be removed from the 2026 QSAC Rules Package.
What does this mean? At the QSAC National Championships (Asphalt and Dirt), or any series that is sanctioned by QSAC, you will not be able to use the QSAC Restrictor Plates. For weekly racing, if a QSAC Sanctioned Track chooses to allow them, it will be at their discretion. Much like tracks that have a “winter tire rules” and other rules variations, those choices are up to the local tracks to decide. We do ask that if a track chooses to allow the QSAC Restrictor Plate after January 1st, 2026, that they share with their racers that they are not legal at the events listed above.
