Greetings QSAC members,
I have something I’d like to share and make others aware of regarding the QSAC Rules Package.
Here at DFW Speedway, we have been extremely blessed to be growing by leaps and bounds. With that said, we have a new guy that purchased a used ready-to-run car, with everything but radio and receiver. It came with a 240 motor in it. After a few races, it started to have motor issues. After checking all the usual things; plugs, carb, air leaks and so on; it was decided to pull engine, and to pull it apart. The issue was found, but something else was found as well. Sealer had been used on part of the crank.
I was fairly certain this is illegal, so I had a discussion with Co-Chairs, and they confirmed that this was illegal as well.
Racers, be aware; just because you didn’t do the modifications yourself, you will still be held accountable if you’re caught with it at a QSAC event.
For reference, please see the 2022 QSAC Rules Package, page 13, section 8.3 ALLOWABLE ENGINE CHANGES, and specifically line 8.3.1., which reads “IF IT IS NOT LISTED, THEN IT IS ILLEGAL!”

Thank you to the Co-Chairs for allowing me to make this post. I hope to see you at the 2022 QSAC Paved National Championship at MPR in June!
